Taiwan-based makers received export orders totaling US$53.50 billion in August 2021, decreasing 3.2% sequentially but increasing 17.6% on year, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
Taiwan-based makers' overseas production took up 49.3% of the total.
Electronic products and IT/communication products were the top two categories in export order value for August, the former generating US$16.51 billion and the latter US$13.84 billion.
Export orders totaled US$418.73 billion for January-August, up 33.5% on year.
