Along with Apple's adoption of miniLED backlighting for 12.9-inch iPad Pro, demand for the miniLED backlighting has taken off, but there is considerable room for reducing production cost and hiking yield rates for such applications, according to Ennostar.

Ennostar said it began volume production for miniLED backlighting in first-half 2021, but delayed shipments for a few times due to technological barriers.

Ennostar expects its miniLED backlighting production in second-half 2021 to progress as originally expected, with the corresponding production capacity being fully utilized until the end of the year. Production cost for miniLED backlighting is expected to be reduced by 10-20% in 2022, Ennostar indicated.
