Taiwan-based makers received export orders worth US$58.87 billion in total in January 2022, decreasing 13.3% on month but increasing 8.7% on year, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) on February 21.
Taiwan-based makers' overseas production contributed 49.7% of the total value.
Electronic products and IT/communication products were the top two categories in terms of export order value for January, with the former generating US$19.22 billion and the latter US$15.69 billion.
