September prices for LCD TV panels drop from August levels by US$9-13 per panel, according to China-based Sigmaintell Consulting.
LCD TV vendors are expected to reduce procurement of panels due to decreased demand for LCD TVs and high inventory levels, Sigmaintell said. Panels procured by Samsung Electronics and China-based Hisense and TCL in the third quarter of 2021 increase on quarter, while those by the other LCD TV vendors decrease sequentially, Sigmaintell noted.
Despite decreased demand, LCD TV panel makers will maintain utilization of production capacities at high levels, resulting in oversupply to some extent and thus drops in September price, Sigmaintell explained.
For panels used in LCD monitors, the output will increase in September but LCD monitor vendors' inventory levels are rising, Sigmaintell said. Consequently, September panel prices will remain unchanged or slightly slip from August, Sigmaintell noted.
