Vietnam continues to experience rapid economic growth and is the sixth largest economy of ASEAN. However, it also faces major challenges in maintaining social and economic development due to climate change. Under the influence of the rapid economic growth and the international green trend, the Vietnamese government launched the “Vietnam Green Growth Strategy” in September 2012, which mainly consists of targeting three specific green areas encompassing: “Low Carbon Green Energy”, “Green Production” and “Green Lifestyle”. It actively introduces green technology as the primary direction towards attaining sustainable economic development in Vietnam and an important indicator of social and economic development. It drives green technology, clean technology, renewable energy, energy conservation, environmental protection equipment, and waste disposal.
In order to help Taiwan’s green industry seek green business opportunities, GTPO will promote Taiwan's green products in Taiwan Expo 2019 in Vietnam and in response to “Vietnam National Green Growth Strategy” to meet the local needs of Vietnam. Taiwan Pavilion will be comprised of 19 top green Taiwanese companies displaying innovative green energy technologies and green building materials.
